DECRYPTION – The group’s general meeting is being held this Tuesday, when between 1,293 and 3,267 job cuts are planned.
It is in a sensitive social context that the first general meeting of the Casino group must take place this Tuesday morning since the takeover at the end of March by the consortium led by Daniel Kretinsky. The new management must be confirmed, and the general director, Philippe Palazzi, should recall the main directions intended to revive a group that is asphyxiated.
But the strategic plan will not be detailed until the fall. Just installed, the new management must first resolve the social aspect. In May, it began negotiations with the unions on a large-scale employment protection plan (PSE) which provides for the net elimination of 1,293 to 3,267 jobs and whose total cost is estimated in ” hundreds of millions of euross”, depending on the direction. The discussions should be completed at the beginning of September.
