The national coach categorically ruled out his choices being dictated by emotion, affirming that the selected players are treated on an equal footing and all want to win.

For Walid Regragui, the choice of players to defend the national colors is based on the simple criterion of performance. He thus brushes aside allegations claiming that they favor certain former executives to the detriment of others.

“All the players called up deserve it. They all want to win and are doing everything to do so,” he declared at a pre-match press conference this Monday, June 10 at the Grand Stade d’Agadir.

And the national coach added: “there is no disciplinary problem within the national team”.

Asked about his feelings regarding the manifestation of some signs from the public, the boss of the Atlas Lions decided with confidence: “The public is with us. He encourages us and supports us like never before.”

The Atlas Lions face Congo Brazzaville this Tuesday, June 11 at the Grand Stade d’Agadir, as part of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in Africa.

Morocco leads Group E with 6 points, ahead of Zambia, Niger and Tanzania who have 3 points each. Congo Brazzaville is last with 0 points.
