Updates continue to rain down on Freeboxes, constantly improving the available features and correcting the latest bugs. On November 5, 2024, Xavier Niel's ISP returned with a new version, which will delight everyone's Internet connection.
Taking the number 4.8.16, the latest update to the Freebox Server Ultra, Pop, Delta and Revolution firstly offers a notable improvement for wifi keys for guests.
Previously limited to a maximum of 128 people, these are now available unlimitedly, allowing you to define a wifi network with a dedicated password for everyone who visits your home.
The second development addresses a problem linked to putting Freebox Servers on standby. Some users indeed mentioned the impossibility of connecting to the wifi network after exiting this state (wifi eco, scheduled sleep or even disabled wifi) of their internet box.
Free also announces that it has fixed the following bugs:
- Fixed loss of connectivity issues with repeaters connected via Ethernet
- Fix cloud-init configuration issue when installing a VM
Installing update 4.8.16 for Freebox Server Ultra, Pop, Delta and Revolution requires a simple restart. This can be operated directly from the TV box interface or by unplugging and then turning on the internet box.
