Spanish MotoGP rider Alex Marquez (28) has extended his contract with satellite Ducati-Gresini for two years, the Italian team announced on Monday, the day after the Dutch Grand Prix. Alex and his older brother Marc are riding together this season at Gresini, but the duo will be separated next year as the six-time MotoGP world champion will join the official Ducati team in 2025.
Two podiums in Grand Prix in 2023
After three first seasons in the premier class at Honda, one in the official team (2020) then two in the LCR satellite team (2021-2022), Alex Marquez, Moto3 world champion in 2014 then Moto2 in 2019, joined Gresini in 2023.

With the Italian team, the Catalan achieved two Grand Prix podiums in 2023, a third place in Argentina and a second in Malaysia, and two sprint victories, in Great Britain and Malaysia. Alex Marquez is currently in tenth place in the championship, far from his brother Marc, who is third.
The identity of the second driver who will play for Gresini in 2025 is not yet known.
