Rome – Moroccan international Eliesse Ben Sghir was named among the 25 finalists for Golden Boy 2024, which rewards the best young player under the age of 21 playing in Europe.

The name of the young midfielder, member of AS Monaco (Ligue1/), appears on the list of finalists, vying for the prestigious trophy, unveiled Thursday in Rome by the specialized Italian daily “Tuttosport”.

The 19-year-old Atlas Lion continues to impress with his performances since the start of the season with the Rouge et Blanc, scoring two goals and two assists in Ligue 1, making him one of the most successful players with a view to the French championship.

Under the colors of the Moroccan national team, he also shone notably during the two matches against the Central African Republic, won 5-0 and 4-0, on October 12 and 15 at the Stade d’Honneur in Oujda, scoring a double in the second match.

Created in 2003 by “Tuttosport”, the Golden Boy, whose trophy ceremony will be organized at the end of November, is awarded by a vote of specialist journalists who designate the best young player in Europe.
