The departure of Robert DIALLO last July from Société Générale Burkina Faso, in the context of a sale to Vista Bank, surprised many observers in the sector given the central role he played within the subsidiary of the French banking group.

The emeritus Corporate Commercial Director of Société Générale Burkina Faso has been appointed head of IB BANK Togo, the third largest bank in its market. According to internal sources, his main mission would be to set a new pace for restructuring and begin the transformation of the bank.

With more than 20 years of banking experience in finance, auditing and sales, Robert DIALLO has an extensive address book. A fine negotiator and man of contact, he enjoys a solid reputation in the Burkinabe banking sector. His career demonstrates a great capacity for adaptation and versatility, particularly valuable assets for this new challenge.

His career will take on a new dimension in 2020, when he successfully transitioned from the position of “professional” Financial Director to that of Corporate Commercial Director within Société Générale Burkina Faso, a first for the African subsidiaries of this group. By breaking this glass ceiling, he joined Societe Generale’s very selective “grow to transform” program in 2021, designed to prepare the General Directors of its subsidiaries.

His recent certification in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School enriches his strategic approach, and clearly demonstrates a clear desire for continuing training, essential at these levels of responsibility.

The Board of Directors of IB BANK Togo has just given a strong signal by recruiting this rather complete profile to pursue its ambitions and stabilize its organization.
