Raja Casablanca: Sa Pinto appointed new coach

The Raja Casablanca holds his new coach. While several names were circulating in recent days, the Greens finally bet on the Portuguese Ricardo Sa Pintoformer international and true “Globetrotter”. The Lusitanian technician arrives in Casablanca six months after leaving theApoel Nicosiawhere he was crowned champion of Cyprus. His record also includes a Belgian Cup, won with Standard Liège in 2018, in addition to an Iranian Super Cup, won at the head of Esteghlal Tehran in 2022.

Champions League: Raja and AS FAR in the same group
Known for his outspokenness and his play based on possession and fluidity between the lines, At the door should sign a one-season contract at the head of the Raja. Nothing surprising for a coach who has rarely spent more than one exercise in the 15 clubs he has managed so far. His main achievement remains the fact of having reached the semi-finals of the Europa League with Sporting Portugal, defeated by Athletic Bilbao. Except in Tehran, Sa Pinto’s experiences outside the confines of Europe have been memorable flops. In July 2017, he took charge of Al Fateh (Saudi Arabia), but left after 5 matches. While his time at Vasco da Gama (Brazil) only lasted two months.

With the Raja, At the door is embarking on a new adventure, with a club with demands heightened by a memorable 2023-2024 season, thanks to which the Greens return to the Champions League, the main objective of the current year. The coach has the international break to get to know the members of the club and prepare the team for upcoming events, including the clash with AS FAR in the Champions League at the end of November.
