– Kendji Girac admitted to having wanted to “simulate suicide”
The singer told investigators that he had “faked suicide” to scare his partner who was threatening to leave him after an argument.
The 27-year-old artist was seriously injured by a gunshot to the chest during the night from Sunday to Monday.

The thesis of an accident, supported by the singer Kendji Girac after his gunshot wound on Monday, is judged “impossible” after ballistic expertise of the weapon used, all the safety features of which are “operational”, declared Thursday the prosecutor of Mont -de-Marsan Olivier Janson.
“An accident, an inadvertent shooting which is generally extremely unlikely when it comes to a handgun of this nature, is considered impossible in the present case,” declared the magistrate at a press conference. “All security is operational. A blow cannot go away on its own,” he argued.

“He was very scared when he heard her talking about leaving, he had a moment of panic and in turn wanted to scare her. In a way he simulated a suicide,” declared the magistrate at a press conference, specifying that the expert reports are “not compatible” with the hypothesis of a shooting carried out by a third person.
