Peter Iwers (The Halo Effect) says there is ‘no rivalry’ with In Flames

Peter Iwers, bassist for The Halo Effect, recently clarified in an interview with Belgian Jasper that there was no rivalry between his group and In Flames, despite frequent comparisons due to the members they share.

A desire to create, without competition

When asked if The Halo Effect members anticipated the reactions of In Flames fans before the release of their debut album Days Of The Lost In 2022, Iwers explained: “We were often reminded, ‘Remember, you all played together at one point.’ We know that, but that’s not why we founded The Halo Effect. We just wanted to play together again… Of course, there were comparisons and talks about a so-called rivalry, but it never existed. I never believed in that kind of thing, and that’s also the case with In Flames.”

Peter also revealed that he continues to collaborate with In Flames guitarist Björn Gelotte through their joint restaurant. This reflects a friendly and professional relationship that transcends their respective musical projects.
