“Lack of water was the hardest thing to deal with”
A new special “celebrity” version including the casting, from social networks to Helene and the boysaims to appeal to all generations: Sidney Govou (44 years old, ex-pro footballer), Nathalie Marquay (57 years old, former Miss France), Daniela Capone (27 years old, influencer), Delphine Wespieser (32 years old, TV host), Terence Telle (32 years old, model), Patrick Puydebat (52 years old, actor), Pierre-Ambroise Bosse (31 years old, former athlete), Carine Galli (39 years old, sports journalist), Julien Cohen (57 years old, antique dealer and TV host) and therefore Lucie Bertaud (39 years old).
If the heavenly setting of Thailand, where filming took place in the summer of 2024, may have reminded him of his previous adventure, the comparison with Koh-Lanta stops there… “The concept is very differentconfides Lucie to the NR. The Island focuses on the survival aspect, and not on strategy, alliances, betrayals… There is no voting or elimination. It's great, because you can really be yourself. Those who leave, it’s because they can no longer move forward! »
MMA specialist on all channels
It must be said that the stay is not easy for these ten city dwellers, without forgetting the three technicians responsible for filming, who are in the same boat. “From the start, you have to swim at least 200 m and as soon as you land, you have to look for the exfiltration point, at the other end of the island. During the entire adventure, we were given neither food nor water. Just a water bottle at first, but it quickly runs out. Lacking water was the hardest thing to deal with. »
She was indeed very far from her Parisian daily life, now outside the rings and cages. “Barring any surprises, my last knee injury undoubtedly ended my sporting career, even if my retirement is not yet official. But I have plenty to keep me busy, because I work as a journalist and consultant on most of the channels that broadcast MMA: RMC sport, DAZN, Canal+, L’Équipe…”
“Crossing the jungle is quite an ordeal, also testifies Lucie Bertaud, who had prepared with Poitevin Maxime Berthon, also a veteran of Koh-Lanta. It sometimes takes hours to cover a few hundred meters. Filming only lasted two weeks, but it was really exhausting. »
Before setting off, the adventurers nevertheless benefit from an internship and advice from Loury Lag, survival professional, who succeeded the explorer Mike Horn in this role. He can also intervene on site in the event of a serious incident.
What kind? Lucie is not allowed to reveal too much… “But I can tell you that there are several mishaps, many twists and turns and strong characters who assert themselves from the first broadcast”she concludes, without hiding having taken a liking to these televised adventures: “If I can experience an adventure like this every year, I’ll be delighted!” » The call is made…
