Jenifer confides for the first time about her miscarriages: “It was intense pain”

Hosted by Frédéric Pommier, the column “It's a song” of Inter gives the floor to “celebrities or strangers who talk about a song that has marked their life”. An exercise that is not always easy, especially for Jenifer.

This Eric Clapton song that upsets Jenifer

Guest of this column a few days ago, the singer, who is making her big return to the forefront with a new album called Jukeboxconfided with emotion on a hit that upset her: Tears In Heaven by Eric Clapton. A title written in 1992 by the famous guitarist in tribute to his little boy who died a year earlier, at the age of only 4, after falling from a window located at 53e floor of a New York tower. “I discovered Eric Clapton thanks to this song. I don't remember exactly the first time I heard it. It's a song that I listen to often. I imagine it was my dad who introduced me to it because it’s thanks to him that I know the most beautiful repertoire”explained Jenifer, emphasizing the respect she feels “for people who share so much intimacy”.

Jenifer's emotion when talking about her miscarriages

If Jenifer is so upset by this song, it is because it reminds her of difficult and intimate moments. “It's a lament, an apology too, he asks his son's forgiveness for not having been there at that time. It's a subject that I understood later and even more when I became a mother.. I have three sons, I dared to imagine putting myself in his place. If I lost one of my children, would I be able to survive? I don't know“, she confessed. “It's a song that allows you to externalize pain and sorrow. It feels good to have a good cry.”continued Jenifer before revealing that she had suffered several miscarriages. “I had this feeling, while listening to this song, of having lost a loved one. I actually wrote a song about it… I never managed to sing it. But it’s a subject that affects a lot of women”she said, moved. “I think about it, but not every day. Sometimes it comes back to me and it has been very intense pain. This song came to accompany me in these pains. In any case it brings me back to these pains. She has the power to console me. I tell myself that there is something more terrible than what I experienced.”.
