Christelle Lara, FSU employment union representative at France Travail (formerly Pôle emploi), hopes “one in two agents on strike” this Thursday, at France Travail, as part of the national strike day in the public service. She denounces “extremely difficult working conditions, with serious consequences for staff and users”. At issue: the job cuts announced at France Travail. Between these cuts and the non-replacement of retirements by 2027, “more than 3,200 positions risk disappearing very quickly” on a national scale, underlines Christelle Lara, while the agents have already “a lot of trouble to cope with” their missions.
Worse according to the FSU employment delegate, unemployment is not decreasing in the Pyrénées-Orientales and above all, a provision of the full employment law provides that, from January 1, 2025, all RSA recipients will be automatically registered with France Travail upon submission of their application for allocation. “1.5 million people to register from January 1”points out Christelle Lara. “That represents around 4,500 more people to accommodate” just for the Perpignan Sant-Vicens agency, “for around a hundred agents on the site”.
