Revealed in the early 2000s, Jenifer won the first season of Star Academy. And since her time at the Château de Dammarie-Les-Lys, she has made a huge change. Inside and out.
This is what the singer explains this November 27, 2024 to Femme Actuelle. Jenifer admits that she freed herself after “allowed to say no.”
Jenifer doesn’t like her body
She remembered: “because initially, when I arrived at Star Ac’, I didn’t really have a defined style. I was drowning in clothes because I didn’t really like my body. I still don’t like him today, but that’s okay. I take responsibility for it more.”
And added: “In any case, there was a time when I was really struggling. I was full of complexes. So, I trusted the person who was in front of me and who said to me: ‘But it looks good on you, wear this’, and everything“. Good dough, Jenifer also admitted: “I wasn’t very complicated, I didn’t know how to say no to someone, for fear of offending or hurting them.”.
She judges today: “Clearly, there were things that didn’t suit me at all“The big change, she says, is that she has grown up and has “learned to be diplomatic in the no“. Jenifer has in fact “learned to say no” quite simply! Namely: “no, I don’t feel good in these clothes”.
A decision that“took a while”, but did him a lot of good”she assures our colleagues. She explains thus: “suddenly, I feel better in my body. When you feel better in clothes, you don’t have the same day“.
And then, thanks to her career in singing, Jenifer was also able to let go at times. She who has “a kind of split personality” when she goes on stage, says: “I can allow myself many more things than in my daily life.”
Her style guru: her mother
However, she admits: “but I keep my complexes, I still have them. We accept them, we move forward, we focus on each other and everything is fine. That’s not the main thing.”
And this lesson was taught to him by his mother. Jenifer assures: “I think a lot about my mom too, when I went to help myself in her dressing room. I was really inspired by her too.”
Admiring, Jenifer explains about herself: “My mother, she can wear sequins, leopard, no matter how old she is, she assumes responsibility, she doesn’t care, she has a fluorescent red scooter, and that’s what I also like about her, it’s this freedom of expression regardless of what will we say“.
