An impressive column of flames rises from the ground and rises towards the first floor. Panic briefly spread to the Montparnasse sector in Paris this Thursday afternoon, when a gas leak set fire to the front of the restaurant “Les Fauves”, in the 14th arrondissement of the capital.
This leak, which occurred during an intervention by GRDF, caused a relative emergency injury among the technicians, we learned from the gas distributor. “The facade is completely charred and the small covered terrace too, but the interior of the restaurant is not affected,” indicates the Paris fire brigade. The fire was brought under control, but flames continued to rise from the ground around 3:30 p.m.
“We can’t really put it out because we have to let the gas escape to avoid the formation of pockets,” specify the firefighters, who assure that they are “doing prevention”. Around fifteen engines and around sixty firefighters were mobilized.
On social networks, many Internet users filmed the intervention of firefighters and GRDF. The images show in particular the charred front of the bistro.
