It’s a big void that Françoise Hardy leaves. On June 11, 2024, the singer died after more than twenty years of fighting illness. Suffering in particular from laryngeal cancer, the interpreter of Le temps de l’amour had long fought for access to the end of life in France. On December 17, 2023, she even questioned Emmanuel Macron in a letter published in La Tribune Dimanche. The ex-wife of Jacques Dutronc, from whom she had never officially divorced, finally passed away before her battle ended as she wished. On June 20, 2024, many personalities gathered at the Père Lachaise cemetery to pay him a final tribute during his funeral. After having “hesitated, out of modesty”, his son Thomas Dutronc shared with Françoise Hardy’s fans the songs and sound documents played during the farewell ceremony. A few days later, he paid him another tribute.
The singer once again took to his Instagram account to share his brand new single with his fans, as well as those of his mother. On the social network, he shares an extract from the clip showing him singing and playing the guitar, without ever taking his eyes off the camera. Entitled In your eyes, his new song resonates like a new tribute to Françoise Hardy.
