On June 25, Prime Video subscribers will be able to discover “I am: Céline Dion”, a documentary which will largely focus on the Canadian diva’s fight against stiff person syndrome.
We know: this degenerative neurological pathology prevents the 56-year-old artist from singing and going on stage. In an interview for NBC News, released this Friday, June 7, Céline Dion gives more details on this disease.

Before illustrating: “It’s as if someone were pushing your larynx, it’s in a spasm…” Comparing this sensation to a violent cramp, the singer continues: “I had broken ribs at one point , because sometimes the spasms are so severe that it can break some people. »

If this illness currently deprives her of concerts, it also prevents her from carrying out simple daily tasks. “When I point my feet, they can stay in that position. If I’m cooking, because I love cooking, my fingers and my hands are going to be in a certain position. »
Soon at the Olympics?
The release of this documentary still gives fans hope. Will Céline Dion take the opportunity to return to singing? For now, no one knows. Rumors announce a possible return of the star on stage during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games next July. His presence has not yet been made official.
