Quincy Jones died on Sunday, November 3, in Los Angeles. Nana Mouskouri knew him well.

He is a legend who passed away this Sunday, November 3. Quincy Jones has died at the age of 91. The artist with a versatile style has left his mark on many artists including Nana Mouskouri.

Au Parisianthe singer remembers the time spent with him and wants to pay tribute to him. “ I’m very sad but I need to talk about Quincy, because he was my great friend and my great teacher », he explains daily.

She remembers her meeting with him: “ When I arrived in in 1960, invited by Louis Hazan, the head of the Philips record company, he was the first, along with Michel Legrand, to give me a chance. During a Parisian evening where they were both, Michel introduced me to Quincy, with whom he was very good friends. The first wanted to take care of me in Paris, the second in New York. And that’s what happened. We were a year apart. We were all from the same generation ».

Nana Mouskouri remembers a man “ adorable » : « Quincy loved very much. And when he came to Paris, he always called me to come see me, even for a few moments. He was very loyal to his friends, very cute, even adorable. He was always asking for news. The last time I saw him was after his show at Bercy, in June 2019. He was kind enough to thank me on stage ».
