JESSI leaves her agency following controversy.
On the morning of September 29, an 18-year-old boy approached Jessi to ask for a photo while she and her acquaintances were in an alley in Apgujeong, Seoul. The victim claims that a member of Jessi’s group blocked him and insulted him in English, and that Jessi then intervened, apologized and refused the request for a photo.
However, another man then approached and suddenly attacked him, punching him in the face and kicking him, as he prepared to leave. According to surveillance footage, the group accompanying Jessi can be seen separating the attacker from the victim and attempting to stop the fight. The victim specifies that Jessi tried to intervene at the beginning, before withdrawing and disappearing. Still according to the victim, Jessi’s group left the scene while he reported the incident to the police, leaving him there without providing him with help. Since then, it has been revealed that the attacker would be a relative of a producer working with JESSI and who accompanied him at the time.

On October 16, JESSI was summoned by the police to be questioned in this case. The singer’s interrogation lasted six hours, during which JESSI was able to answer the police’s questions for the sake of the investigation.
But that’s not all because new accusations have been made, according to which JESSI and friends allegedly assaulted a girl in 2013, revelations made by the alleged victim herself.

On October 18, it was then announced that JESSI was leaving his agency following this controversy.
DOD, the JESSI agency, officially declared:
“Hello, this is DOD.
We would like to once again apologize for any concern caused by the recent unfortunate news.
After extensive discussions on its future activities, we have decided to end our exclusivity contract with JESSI as of October 18, 2024, at its request and after careful consideration.
Although it was a short time, we are grateful to JESSI for the time she spent with us and sincerely wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

JESSI ended her contract with MORE VISION, Jay Park’s agency, earlier this year, before joining DOD last month. She will therefore only have spent a month in her new agency.
Earlier this year, Jessi ended her contract with Jay Park-led MORE VISION and signed an exclusive contract with DOD last month.
