Polish Death Metal band Decapitated has just announced a major change in its lineup: its current singer, Rafał “Rasta” Piotrowski, is leaving the band after 14 years of loyal service. In a one-off performance at the Damnation Festival on November 2, Decapitated will bring back their original vocalist, Sauron, to perform classics from the band. The band members will then officially welcome their new singer, Eemeli Bodde, from Mors Subita.

A return to basics with Sauron for a special performance

In a statement on social media, Decapitated expressed their excitement about this temporary return of Sauron: “We are delighted to announce that Sauron, our original singer, will be returning with us to Manchester for Damnation Festival. He will perform some of the band’s classics — songs that have become iconic and helped define a generation.”

The band members added that they look forward to sharing this special moment with their fans, recognizing that Sauron’s powerful voice will breathe new energy into the songs that have marked Decapitated’s history.

The departure of Rasta after 14 years

Rafał Piotrowski joined Decapitated in 2009 and has been a central part of the band’s evolution in the years since. However, in a difficult decision, he chose to leave the lineup. In his farewell message he said: “The time has come for me to leave Decapitated. After all these years, this decision was not easy to make. It has been an incredible journey with many memories. I thank every person I met along the way – the band, our collaborators, and everyone who worked with us or supported us.”

Rasta expressed his gratitude to the fans, saying that their passion and energy have always been his greatest source of motivation during concerts: “It has been a huge privilege to perform for you around the world. Thank you for your continued support.”

The future with Eemeli Bodde

Following Sauron’s unique performance at the Damnation Festival, Decapitated will introduce their new vocalist, Eemeli Bodde, during A Night of Salvation. The band said they are very excited to introduce Bodde to their fans and begin a new chapter in their career with him on the mic.
