IN IMAGES, IN PICTURES – For its arrival in Occitanie, this Monday, the relay took the most iconic French bridge.

You didn’t have to get up too late to see the Olympic flame speeding across the Millau viaduct, held up by world roller champion Taïg Khris.

This Monday, May 13, for the fifth stage of the relay and the first outside the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur region, the flame crossed the 2.5 kilometers of the bridge at the stroke of 8:00 a.m., celebrating at the same time occasion the 20th anniversary of the inauguration of the viaduct.

The torchbearers then accompanied the torch to the town center of Millau, where 3,000 primary school children were waiting.

The flame is now heading towards Sète then will reach Montpellier at the end of the day.
