We were impatiently waiting for it, since the tragedy he went through at the start of 2024, but now here it is: Kendji Girac is back with a new album, “Vivre…”. If he gets a little heckled by a few “haters” on social networks, we can only face the obvious: the singer is in top form, artistically speakingwith a voice as captivating as ever and texts filled with emotion (some of which were written by his great friend Vianney). But even if all that is now behind himthe singer had to speak at least once in the media, officially, toexplain what happened during this famous “accident” of April 21, 2024. This took place this week, on Laurent Delahousse’s show.
A new man
He definitely a lot happened in this Laurent Delahousse showbroadcast on Sunday October 6 on France 2. Starting with a surprise from Vianney, who came to accompany his great friend Kendji on the piano for a memorable moment filled with emotions. But the “Gitano” also spoke about his worries that everyone has heard about during this year: he claims to have completely put a line under his excesses, thanks to the support of his family and those around him, but also thanks to his music:
It’s my most personal album. I put all my heart into it, I sang this album with a lot of emotion each time. There are songs where I cried when I sang them, for example “If only”. There were times when I sang with a little tear. We didn’t need to sing it a second time.
A title with which he wanted to address his audience in particular, to speak with an open heart:
I had to take charge and really tell them what I wanted to tell them. In life, we can have ups and downs, the most important thing is to get back up as quickly as possible. Realize that people love us. There is a lot of love! So you have to grasp it to be able to become stronger again.
He also explains having dedicated a track to his wife Soraya on his album, “J’ai changer”and affirms that contrary to what we have read in the press, his wife has always supported him and that it is thanks to her that he got out of his bad situation:
She has always been there from the beginning, she is a very strong woman, contrary to what has been said in the media. We were a little shocked by what was said. So I had to tell him that I have changed and that I want to do good things.
Finally, he ends by stating that it was love that got him back on his feet: the love of his wife, of his daughter, but also the love of his audience, and he of his friends, who helped him conquer his demons. We couldn’t dream of a better message: love each other!
