“This album corresponds to a moment in my life but I didn’t try to take stock at all. It’s the present that I put in the album. Besides, I always say that I am an artist in sustainable development because people are still discovering me today. I have an audience of parents, who come to see me with their children, who come to see me in turn… I’m surprised that it’s been 30 years, but. From writing to composition
“I had never taken care of composition because I was surrounded by talented composers. During confinement, I wanted to know my songs better, their harmony. And then by chance, I created the melody of “Missing someone somewhere”. I asked Jean-Jacques Nyssen for his opinion, who encouraged me in this direction. Then the dam broke and I composed ten songs.

I am very touched by voices in general and hers touches me a lot. She has a sensitive voice, a little scratchy. She writes very pretty songs, she follows her path, she only listens to herself and she is right.

“It’s the stage that galvanizes me. In concert, there are songs that I always play because the public likes to find them and others that I take out of the closet to bring them back to life. We rework them, of course, but I don’t forget the lyrics. We’re in full swing, the premiere is coming soon, we’re choosing the order of the songs, we’re thinking about the atmosphere that the sequence can create. master of the game and we can offer what we want to the public.”

“There is of course an allusion to the thirty-year career, but I also realized that there was a lot of dancing in this album. I say that I prefer life in song because song allows everything. It allows you to tell stories, it makes you sad, it makes you happy, it makes you beautiful. I would have a hard time living without songs. We have always sung a lot at home, we are a family where singing was a way of sharing moments.”

Find inspiration
“My songs begin with the text before I entrust them to the composers. There have sometimes been accidents along the way, where I was given a melody on which I wrote a text. When I start writing, I have need to do just that, to concentrate, sitting at my desk with my computer, there is always a moment of wandering and in my opinion, the more you write, the more difficult it is because you have to find something. new things to say. A tribute album
*”The song “*That day (October 17, 61)” is a tribute to the Algerians drowned in the Seine. It’s a tragic historical fact, I came to talk about it because I have an Algerian friend who goes to the Saint-Michel bridge every year to commemorate this event. I tried to tell this story without unnecessary pathos. I had to do a lot of research to be able to make a song out of it, to really know what happened.”

“I went looking for things that I didn’t know. The form is not in my codes so I was interested in the text. It’s really well written, the phrasing is great, I wanted us to listen to it again .”
