A new drama that touches the world of K-pop. Korean singer Park Bo-ram died Thursday April 11 in Seoul, her agency Xanadu Entertainment announced.

Seoul police said the woman, aged 30, was with two other women, at the home of one of them, when she was found unconscious and in cardiac arrest, reports American media Deadline. Taken to hospital, she died around 11 p.m. local time, about an hour after arriving.

“We are here to share sad and heartbreaking news. Park Bo-ram died suddenly late on the night of April 11,” the Xanadu statement said. “All artists and executives of Xanadu Entertainment deeply mourn the deceased with great sadness. (…) The funeral will take place after consultation with the bereaved family. Once again, we send our deepest condolences to the deceased so that she can rest in peace,” the agency added.

Police are still investigating the exact cause of death for the singer, who had no known problems. Although the cause of his death has not yet been determined, Park Bo-ram is now one of the many young K-pop stars who have lost their lives in recent years. The demands placed on artists by this industry have caused health problems in some of its unfortunate predecessors.

She was preparing a new album

Park Bo-ram first became known to the general public by participating in the Korean television show “Superstar K2” in 2010, before releasing his first official single titled “Beautiful » four years later. In March 2014, she attracted attention following her spectacular weight loss of 32 kg since her appearance in “Superstar K2”.

Since this first single, she has released around twenty others, several of which have ranked in the South Korean Top 10. She received the Artist of the Year award at the fourth edition of the Gaon Chart K-pop Awards and was nominated to win an Mnet Asian Music Award, a Melon Music Award and a Golden Disk Award.

Park Bo-ram had just released a single titled “I Miss You” on April 3, and she was preparing to release a full album, according to Xanadu Entertainment.
