Senegal towards the digitalization of education

Minister Alioune SALL and his team had the honor of receiving Mr. Moustapha Mamba Guirassy, ​​Minister of National Education, accompanied by his colleagues, for a presentation of the new Digital Strategy for Senegalese Education 2025-2029. This strategy, estimated at 130 billion FCFA, is part of Senegal’s New Technological Deal and aims to modernize our education system by fully integrating digital technology and artificial intelligence.

The two ministers, Mr. Sall and Mr. Guirassy, ​​welcomed the convergence of strategic axes and the synergies between the two teams; They instructed to set up a task force to address the identified areas of collaboration, namely:

The organization of a workshop to align the two digital strategies;

The formulation, by the group of experts, of orientations and recommendations in governance and operational aspects;

Review of the flagship projects of the Ministry of National Education of Senegal to be integrated into the pilot phase of the Digital Master Plan in a collaborative approach. The Ministry of Digital is fully committed to supporting sectors in the implementation of their Digital strategy. We are therefore committed to supporting the national Ministry of Education to ensure the connectivity of the country’s various establishments and the modernization of educational information systems. As part of the New Technological Deal, the Ministry of Digital Affairs is also committed to providing a common base to sectors to support them in the implementation of their digital strategy. This base includes, among other things, digital identity, cybersecurity to ensure the security of our information systems, electronic payment, an interoperability platform, a big data and analytics platform, etc. While thanking Minister Moustapha Guirrassy and his teams, Minister Alioune Sall recalled his determination to provide the necessary support to guarantee effective and inclusive digital governance, and to promote innovation and equity in our education system, for a Senegal more connected and more prosperous.
