At the Rousses station, morale has been high since the start of the Christmas vacationwhether on the immaculate slopes or in the dark rooms.
The snowfall on the eve of the holidays brought joy to the skiers and seasonal workers, “the resort is packed with vacationers” slips a merchant from the village center.
THE movie theaters are also, full to bursting, for the release of the feature film by Franck Dubosc, “A bear in the Jura”.
1,750 spectators at the previews
In view of the release of the film, filmed largely in Les Rousses and Bois d'Amont, the owner of the Rousses cinema, Claude Krawieck, explains to us how “a pre-opening strategy with the agreement of Gaumont and Franck Dubosc” had been put in place well before the exit of the film “in the villages of the partner massif of the project”.
A plan which bore fruit, since the our projections organized as a preview at the end of December – three in Bois d’Amont, four in Les Rousses and four in Morez – made full box. Environ 1750 people saw the film before everyone else in the villages.
Unprecedented local enthusiasm
“The local enthusiasm is unprecedented. People had started to book well in advance. I am thinking in particular of a whole community of Haut-Jura residents who live in the south of France, who saw on the internet that there would be previews and who quickly sent us messages to find out how reserve their places“, says Christophe Hernandez, employee of the Casino de Morez cinema, contacted by Voice of Jura.
“Since Wednesday January 1, the date of the national release of the film, people have even come to reserve their seats at the beginning of the afternoon for the evening screenings! »
By talking with people at the release of the film, the Morez cinema employee found a enthusiastic audience by the film, the plot and by the photography.
“It’s great to see actors like Benoît Poelvoorde, Laure Calamy, Franck Dubosc, in our landscapes, with our inhabitants as extras.”
A marketing showcase
“Apart from the fact that the film is praised by the press, it is also a superb marketing showcase for the Jura, which delights everyone,” enthuses Claude Krawieck, who in addition to the Quinsonnets des Rousses cinema also took over the management of the Casino de Morez cinema nine years ago.
“60,000 people saw Dubosc’s film on the first day of its national release. In one week, if the trend continues, nearly 500,000 people will see the Jura on the big screen! »
Cinema and culture in the mountains
“A film like that is a bit like the Tour de France in terms of visibility for the region, we needed it”
“Lately, the Burgundy Franche-Comté region supported several films, such as Fario, by Lucie Prost, Le Roman de Jim, by the Larrieu brothers adapted from the novel by Pierric Bailly, or Vingt Dieux by Louise Courvoisier, which filled the rooms of our mountain cinemasit's never seen beforeand it is a beautiful embellishment after the Covid crisis. In our remote, sometimes forgotten rural regions, cinema plays an important role in bring back culture“, explains Claude Krawieck, who is delighted with this “ exceptional end of year » for the seventh art in Haut-Jura.
