New Disney+ releases: films, series and documentaries to watch in streaming in December 2024

The Disney streaming platform intends to end the year in the best possible way, and to do so is adding numerous films, series and documentaries to its catalog in December 2024.

Once again a somewhat light arrival, but with new Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar productions, and promising musical documentaries. Will this be enough against its rivals Netflix, Prime Video and Canal+?

Like every month, before developing the list of new features on Disney+ for the month of December, here is, in our opinion, the series and film of the month on the service.

The Disney+ series of the month

Star Wars : Skeleton Crew

After a mysterious discovery on their home planet, four children get lost on a dangerous journey across the galaxy. By all means, they try to find the path that will take them home. Their adventure, much greater than anything they could have imagined, will be punctuated by encounters, both with allies and unlikely enemies…

Skeleton Crew is an exciting cocktail of adventure and mystery that brings back all the wonder and excitement of the Star Wars universe. Far from the corridor intrigues and the seriousness of the Jedi, the series deepens its identity as a tale populated by monsters and pirates to better conquer our child's soul. The best Star Wars series in a long time.

Disney+ movie of the month

The Haunted Mansion

Gabbie has found the perfect home for her and her son, which promises them a fresh start in New Orleans. But strange, unexplainable things start happening; could the house be haunted by dark spirits? To get rid of supernatural beings, she calls on several people, including a priest, a medium, a historian and a paranormal expert.

In the absence of a plethora of choice in terms of new Disney+ films this month, we are somewhat obliged to recommend the imperfect The Haunted Mansion. This production based on the famous park attraction is polished enough to entertain, and its friendly cast (Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, Danny DeVito, Owen Wilson…) will delight many. If we will simply regret a confused identity, lazy writing and a lack of thrills, fans should be delighted.
