Arriving on Netflix on July 1 for one year, the “Matrix” films, with Keanu Reeves in the lead role, are available until next Sunday, June 30.

Dystopian universe

“Matrix” and its dystopian universe arrived on our (big) screens in 1999. Subsequently becoming a reference, the film recorded 4.7 million admissions in French cinemas and grossed more than $465 million in revenue. revenues on a global scale. Only Lana Wachowski, without Lilly, is directing the 4th opus, “Matrix Resurrections”, in 2021. A film not available on Netflix.

The first part of “The Matrix” received 41 awards, including 4 Oscars. “Matrix Reloaded”, presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003, won 8 awards in total. Keanu Reeves, who is currently away from the film sets due to touring with his rock band Dogstar, has, after Neo, played another saga hero, John Wick.
