the Marvel series will tell us more about Wanda’s destiny

Remember, the last time we saw Wanda Maximoff was at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Apparently, the character of The Scarlet Witch would have died at the end of Sam Raimi’s film. It seems that the series Agatha All Along tells us more about Wanda’s fate.

What happened to the Red Witch?

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Scarlet Witch decides to go to the dark side after the disappearance of her children. She travels the multiverse to find traces of her sons, to the detriment of the balance of the time continuum. At the end of the story, she is stopped by Dr. Strange and America Chavez. In a hint of redemption, Wanda sacrifices herself to destroy the Darkhold, this grimoire of black magic.

The spectators therefore left Wanda for dead. Since then, the character has still not reappeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Basically, we don’t know yet whether Wanda actually died or not. But it seems that the series Agatha All Along just confirmed the information.

A first trailer, but without images

Developed by Jac Schaeffer, Agatha All Along is a spin-off series WandaVision. The show, expected on September 18 next on Disney+, will focus on Agatha Harknessthe antagonist of WandaVision, embodied by Kathryn Hahn. The story will develop after WandaVision and in particular focus on the way in which Agatha will free herself from Wanda’s prison. Obviously, the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will also have an impact on Agatha All Along.

Indeed, Disney and Marvel have unveiled a first trailer to an audience of investors. Although this teaser has not been published online, there is however a description (via IGN). These first images will apparently feature Agatha in the role of a detective. She would have in her hands a document which lists the deaths of wizards and witches. And Wanda’s name would be on it. There would indeed be a mention which would mention the death of The Scarlet Witch on October 13.

Just after, Agatha would then cross paths with another witch played by Aubrey Plaza. The latter would then ask Agatha:

“Is this really how you see yourself? That witch is gone, trapping you in a twisted spell. Make your way out.”

Agatha would then respond:

“She took every bit of my power. But now I can go back to being the witch I was.”

Wanda’s death would therefore explain why Agatha managed to escape from her magical prison, and regained his powers. The death of The Scarlet Witch will undoubtedly disintegrate the magical barriers put in place by the latter.

Agatha All Along

Already, in 2023, a Marvel chronological book has confirmed the death of The Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange 2. However, fans still have a hard time believing it. His death was not extremely heroic or touching, and clearly lacked emotional impact. Likewise, given the power of the character, the public still wonders how she could die in a simple landslide.

However, since the MCU is currently exploring the door of multiverse, everything is finally possible. With the multiverse, Wanda (or one of her variants) can easily return in a future production of the MCU. But officially, the character has died!

It was Agatha All Along
