Fans are used to it: Star Wars likes to play by its own rules. And contrary to what the credits of the first film say, the Rebels actually won other battles before Scarif.
Are you sure you know Star Wars like the back of your hand? In this case, what was the first battle won by the Rebel Alliance, the famous resistance which swore to push back the Empire in the universe of George Lucas? According to the opening of A New Hope – the first film to be released but the fourth in the saga’s chronology -, this famous victory is the one where the Rebels managed to steal the plans for the Death Star during the Battle of Scarif. Conflict which will also be depicted on the big screen in Star Wars Rogue One. But, according to our colleagues at 3Djuegos, this is not the Alliance’s first notable feat of arms.

According to the Spanish site, if we consider that the Rebel Alliance as such existed before the Battle of Scarif (which may be subject to debate), the resistance then, indeed, had other feats of arms to his assets… 3Djuegos cites for example the war of Atollon and Lothalboth present in the animated series Star Wars: Rebels! It is especially the second which can be considered a real victory. “What was originally a rescue mission to free Hera Syndulla (a figure of the rebellion, editor’s note) translates into a serious strategic error for the Empire, because the mission paralyzes the TIE Defender project”, explains the Spanish media .

Yes, because if the TIE Defender project had survived, it could have done badly, very badly. It is an evolved version of traditional TIE fighters, with three wings instead of two. But it is not these aesthetic details that would have inspired fear. The machine was equipped with a deflector shield, a missile launcher, heavy cannons, even a hyperdrive to go into hyperspace.
