Unaccustomed to action films, Guillaume Canet was chosen by Netflix to lead his new film “Ad Vitam”, currently filming. The streaming platform revealed a first bloody and muscular image. The film is expected in 2025.

Guillaume Canet flexes his muscles for Netflix

Guillaume Canet is not idle. After directing the last part of the adventures of Asterix and Obelix, and having played a series of roles (no less than five in one year), the director and actor will soon be the star of a new action film made in Netflix called AD VITAM, for which he also co-wrote the screenplayand puts on the producer’s cap.

This feature film marks Guillaume Canet’s first foray into the world of streaming as a screenwriter and producer, after having made a notable appearance in the comedy New richreleased in November 2023.

The plot ofAD VITAM is reminiscent of the action saga Taken worn by Liam Neeson. Guillaume Canet will play a man named Franck Lazareff who, after escaping an assassination attempt, must find his wife, kidnapped by a dangerous gang. But his mission will plunge him into an infernal spiral, where his mysterious past will resurface, at the same time as he will find himself in the middle of a state affair that is beyond his control.

To announce the film, Netflix revealed a first image in which we can discover Guillaume Canet, very muscular, and visibly in very bad shape. The opportunity to discover the actor in a more physical role than usual.

In addition to Guillaume Canet who will play the leading role, Ad Vitam also counts in its cast Nassim Lyes, the star ofPassing byAnd New richwho no longer has to prove his talent in action films.

We will also find the actress Stéphane Caillard (Flo, ), but also Zita Hanrot (Plan Cœur), Alexis Manenti (Athena), and Johan Heldenbergh.

The film directed by Rodolphe Lauga (who had collaborated with Guillaume Canet on the screenplay for Rock’n Roll in 2017) is currently filming in the region and should arrive on our screens in 2025.
