This Saturday, May 13 in Liverpool where the Eurovision final was held, La Zarra had wisely waited his turn when the public votes were announced. A vote that could change a lot of things. As Stéphane Bern and Laurence Boccolini explained on France 2, the ranking could be completely turned upside down in relation to the votes of the jury. This is why La Zarra could possibly hope for a big surprise, if his performance had succeeded in conquering viewers from home. But that’s not at all what happened.

Worse, La Zarra reacted in a totally inappropriate way, as BBC cameras captured. While France had garnered 54 small points given by the jury, the viewers had decided to give it 50 small others. A weak vote which provoked an inappropriate reaction from the singer. Indeed, she performed a “finger” while looking at the camera.
But that’s not all. According to Stéphane Bern and Laurence Boccolini, La Zarra has even left the Green Room, where the artists and their delegation can relax before and after their visit. On the other hand, they did not mention this gesture of the singer, when it was seen by all.
Asked by 20minutes.fr, La Zarra replied “Absolutely not” to the question of whether his gesture was a middle finger. “You have to understand that, although I represent France, I also have a culture and it’s a bit generational, it’s not a negative gesture, it’s a gesture of disappointment that we use between friends . I can understand that overseas (sic) [outre-Atlantique]it is considered as another gesture”.
