The film by the producer of Culture retraces the deceptive life of a usurper who deceived many women around the world, by lying to them about his true identity.

We no longer present Sonia Kronlund, producer of the legendary France Culture show for over twenty years now. feet on the ground. Over decades of radio documentaries, we suspect that she must have heard some, barely believable, too much, mind-blowing stories, the kind that we tell ourselves would make a great screenplay or a good thriller. So why did the story of this man hold her attention to this extent and grow into an obsession, pushing her to dedicate not only a podcast to him, but also a documentary and a book (published by Grasset in January ) ? Sonia Kronlund explains this at the beginning of the film, and at the same time explains one of the principles that guides her throughout: if this story speaks to her, it is because she herself has often paid the price of men toxic; the documentary that we are going to see therefore has a cathartic and almost vengeful virtue, which necessarily questions us about what a film can do, what it allows us to repair and at what price.
