Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) took pole position on Saturday for the Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the season, ahead of his rival in the world championship, Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac). The two drivers, engaged in a suspenseful duel for the title, flew through the qualifying session, relegating Alex Marquez (Ducati-Gresini), third, to almost a second.
