Summary of qualifications
At the end of this qualifying session, it was Jorge Martin who took pole position ahead of Marco Bezzecchi and Pedro Acosta. The Spaniard crushed his opponents by shattering the track record in 1:29:088, more than five tenths behind second. But this timed session was marked by the great performance of the French. Outside the top ten on Friday, Johann Zarco posted a magnificent time during Q1, taking first place in 1:29:995. The Cannes resident finished his session in seventh place. Raul Fernandez joined him for the Q2 hostilities.
As for the 2021 champion, Fabio Quartararo crossed the finish line with a time of 1:29:848, placing him in sixth position on the starting grid. Unfortunately, everything did not go as planned for Marc Marquez. While he fell at the start of the second part of qualifying near turn fifteen, the native of Cervera fell again in turn ten, preventing him from playing at the forefront.
