The anniversary evening organized by the City of Saint-Tropez on Saturday September 28 will include among its highlights the screening of the first images of the documentary film distributed by Pathé Live, Bardot.

Its cinema release is scheduled for May 2025 and the preview is strongly anticipated during the 78th Film Festival, between May 13 and 24.

This is a valuable documentary for us about Brigitte and Saint-Tropez. We see images filmed this year at her home, surrounded by her animals. There will be many testimonies from French and international personalities like Claude Lelouch, Naomi Campbell, Paul Watson for whom she took up the cause as well as her husband of course!“, explains Saint-Tropez mayor Sylvie Siri also in the credits of this film of which the City is a “partner”.

It will be co-signed by director-producer Nicolas Bary (Les Enfants de Timpelbach, Le Petit Spirou, etc.) present this Saturday in Saint-Tropez.

This 90-minute film is a mix of archive footage, interviews and filmed reconstructions. Brigitte Bardot will be the first narrator and takes as her starting point her radical and strong decision to leave everything in 1973 to devote herself to the animal cause. It is a cross-reflection on what it means to be a woman artist, a free woman and sometimes ahead of her time“, indicates the production.

For her part, Danièle Thompson suggests that there will be no sequel to her six-episode mini-series, Bardot, broadcast last May with Julia de Nunez in the title role, 2 having not resigned for a second season which would have focused on the post-1960 period.
