Joan Mir and Luca Marini had to withdraw from the last MotoGP race in Misano. The Repsol Honda Team riders return to competition this weekend.
Joan Mir: “If we do just one lap this weekend, it will be better than last time. I feel much better now and I have been able to train fully during this week. My fitness is not a problem. We were able to catch up a bit during the test on Monday and try a few things that should get us off to a flying start this weekend. Let’s see what the weekend brings as we enter this intense period of racing.”
Luca Marini: “The only way to go this weekend is forward! I was really disappointed not to race last weekend, but it was the right decision. We did a lot of things in the test despite my physical condition, and after the test we have a few things to try this weekend to improve our performance. It’s good to have another opportunity to race in front of the home fans again and the aim is to give them a more competitive weekend.”
