So you might be wondering, what happens after you find the lost city of El Dorado, get blown up, have two of your parents die, and get stranded in South America with a sack full of gold? Well, let John B (Chase Stokes) catch you up in the first nine minutes of Outer Banks Season 4, which you can watch right now above!

Season 4 kicks off with the Pogues returning to the OBX and putting their resilient heads together to figure out the best way to use their newfound gold. Or, as Rudy Pankow (who plays JJ) previously told Tudum, “What do you want now? When you finally get something, what do you want?”

It’s not super surprising that the Pogues decide to re-create their happiest times: On Poguelandia, of course! So the crew decide to build themselves Poguelandia 2.0, a new safe haven where they can live together and run a successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. P4L, right?!

The Season 3 finale ended with an 18-month time jump after the Pogues found the treasure, and the cast were just as eager to fill in the blanks as the fans. “That’s what I’m most excited for, just figuring out what is in between that time,” Jonathan Daviss (who plays Pope) told Tudum last season.

Up to now, all the show has told us after the jump was that Kiara (Madison Bailey) was out saving sea turtles, Pope (Daviss) was planning on going away to school, JJ (Pankow) bought a charter boat, and Sarah (Madelyn Cline) was working at a surf shop with John B. Not to mention that a new character, Wes Genrette (David Jensen), made them an offer that’s pretty dang hard for a Pogue to refuse: to join a search for Blackbeard’s treasure.

So why the jump in the first place? “We felt like we needed to migrate them out of school,” Outer Banks co-creator Josh Pate previously told Tudum in a conversation explaining the end of Season 3. He and co-creators Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke thought of the first three seasons as a trilogy, so Season 4 will feel like they’re clearing the decks. “We’re going to have new villains, a new treasure hunt, a new life situation,” he said.

Watch the first nine minutes above and get hyped for the rest of Season 4, which premieres with Part 1 on Oct. 10 and Part 2 on Nov. 7. We’re bringing it on home, Pogues!
