The prefect of Maine-et- has decided to take several measures to secure the end-of-year holiday period.

For the end-of-year celebrations, the prefect of Maine-et-Loire, Philippe Chopin, is taking a series of measures. “ Combating risky behavior, such as consuming alcohol or drugs before driving, is an absolute priority. These behaviors endanger not only the individuals concerned, but also their loved ones and the entire community. Since the start of the year, 40 people have lost their lives on the department's roads », recalls the prefect.

Alcohol and drug checks will be reinforced on the roads of Maine-et-Loire. From Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 6 p.m. to Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at 8 a.m., the sale and delivery of all alcoholic beverages will be prohibited. On the same dates, it will also be prohibited to consume on public roads.

In order to prevent accidents linked to fireworks, their sale will be prohibited from Friday December 20, 2024 at 6 p.m. to Thursday January 2, 2025 at 8 a.m. From Friday, December 20, 2024 at 6 p.m. to Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 8 a.m., the retail sale, purchase, removal and transportation of fuels in containers is prohibited without legitimate reason.

Finally, undeclared festive gatherings, such as rave parties, will also be prohibited from Friday December 20, 2024 at 6 p.m. to Thursday December 26, 2024 at 8 a.m.
