SUV 7 places
Hybrid
From €47,990
Kia is carrying out a major restyling of the Sorento. While it retains its XXL dimensions designed for the North American market, the 7-seater hybrid SUV sees its exterior style evolve significantly to remain competitive with the new Peugeot 5008 or Skoda Kodiaq. Thus, the hood, the grille, the shield have been completely revised to be able to install new vertical headlights. We note the arrival of sequential indicators at the front.

The look is a little closer to that of the EV9, its electric counterpart. At the rear, less originality. Only the graphics of the lights have been revised.
On board, the manufacturer has completely redesigned the dashboard. It is much less massive than before and has a more efficient arrangement of furniture. The vents have been moved and the two screens (12.3 inches) have been repositioned. The whole is more coherent and enhanced by good quality materials. Kia took the opportunity to update the multimedia system of its SUV. Much more responsive and easier to use than before, it is compatible with Android and wireless CarPlay and offers a host of features such as the digital key (via the smartphone), online navigation and even biometric recognition by fingerprint.
Through the Kia Connect app, the driver can also view and monitor the vehicle's charging status and plan a route, locate charging stations, etc. Kia has integrated a digital control panel allowing you to switch between air conditioning and volume settings. The same as on board the Niro. It's a habit to get into, but once the “trick” is assimilated, this system works properly.
Available in five or seven seats for an additional €950, the Sorento is designed for the family and does quite well compared to its competitors. The rear seat slides, leaving gigantic legroom for second-row passengers. In addition, the backrests tilt and fold in 60/40 mode. Better, high finishes add an individual cup holder, heated seats, a USB port and a blind.
In 5-seater configuration, the trunk volume is close to that of a utility vehicle, releasing 809 liters on this plug-in hybrid version! It's halfway between a 5008 and a Kodiaq. The 7-seater version offers two folding seats which, despite a somewhat short seat, allow you to travel in good conditions, provided you do not exceed 1.70 m. They will benefit from personal air conditioning and USB connectivity. We particularly appreciate the access to this third row which is achieved with a simple press of a button placed in row 2. The bench seat tilts and slides mechanically.
