The winter campaign of the French Blood Establishment features a man with a white beard, in a polo shirt, rather relaxed. And this logo: “Santa Claus is not always who we think”. This one parked his sled and took off his red coat, time to donate blood. Anyone can become Santa Claus. The vast majority of the population – anyone aged between 18 and 70 – can donate blood or plasma.

Huge needs
As Christmas approaches, we can be more generous. Especially since the shortage of donors is increasing during this period of festivals and public holidays, as pointed out by Marie Elmerich, responsible for the development of blood donation in Moselle.
At the same time, the needs are enormous. Advances in medicine and the increase in lifespan have seen an exponential increase in the number of pathologies that can be treated today with drugs derived from blood.
Get started!
On site, the team takes great care. Upon reception, she takes the donor under her wing (don't forget their identity card!). After the medical questionnaire, we seat him comfortably in an armchair (don't forget his book or his PC), with a drink. There is a TV in the room. After the donation, a snack is offered under the supervision of the medical team.
Everything is free. And this donation can save many patients. Perhaps now is the time to get started, alone, with family, with friends or colleagues. The Don House will be open on December 24 and 31. And don't miss the next mobile collection: it's Tuesday, December 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Metz town hall!
“Do you know? Metz” can also be listened to as a podcast
