It was in the prefecture lounge that the associative world was invited to present the medals (gold, silver and bronze) to the volunteers which are rewards for those who dedicate themselves tirelessly to their respective associations. This action also marks the recognition by the State of volunteers in the associative world. Among the recipients, Jean Claude Dupuy was decorated with the gold medal for Youth Sports and Community Engagement from Simon Bertoux, prefect of Ariège. Jean Claude has a career of 56 years of volunteer work. He was the founding president of the Tennis Club Bonnacois, founding member of Bonnac Olympique rugby, several years on the steering committee of the Tennis Club de Pamiers, the Sporting Club Appaméen, Millane Pétanque, founding president of the Amicale de la Marseillaise Petanque. He was also in charge of missions to the Occitanie regional youth sports committee. He is currently treasurer of the departmental committee of Youth Sports Medalists and Community Engagement. A few days later, it was at the town hall of Mazères, for World Volunteer Day, that Jean Clause received the Palme d’Or for volunteering (Volunteer Foundation) from Louis Marettes, mayor of Mazères. You should know that there are only 50 Palmes d’Or distributed each year in France. Sixteen diplomas to deserving volunteers and ten awards to dynamic associations were also awarded.
