The Ministry of the Interior has just unveiled an updated map of radars present on French roads.
There are 3,268 in total, but some regions are home to many more than others.
Good news for motorists. They can now consult the map of fixed speed cameras installed along the roads. The Ministry of the Interior has just updated it and made it accessible to all on the Internet, while that of Road Safety dated several years ago. One of the lessons: vehicle speed is more controlled in certain regions.
According to this updated data, the New Aquitainethe largest region in France, holds the record for the number of radars: 411 in October 2024, or 12% of the total, while the region is home to 9% of the French population. L’Île-de-France takes second place, with 359 radars, followed very closely by theOccitanie (350 radars).
Then, the Hauts-de-France and theAuvergne-Rhône-Alpes have 322 and 321 respectively. Great East has 297 radars, 248 in Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur199 in Center-Val-de-Loire182 in Burgundy-Franche-Comté and 171 in Normandie.
