At a time when public health is in crisis and that many public hospitals suffer from understaffing and bed closures in particular, some, less numerous, benefit frommodernized infrastructure. This is the case of this large health site in the south of Occitania.

A brand new helipad

Thanks to work carried out jointly by the Regional Health Agency (ARS), Tuesday November 19 and the management of the Hospital Center of (hears), the health site now benefits from a large, completely redeveloped helipad.

Ce new heliport was built near the Espace de Liberté in the center of the hometown of Charles Trenet.

The site can now safely accommodate, nighttime interventions by emergency services. This was until now completely impossible at night, due to a glaring lack of brightness.

233 500 euros

Questioned on the sidelines of the inauguration of this tool, Bertrand Malquier, 45 ansMayor of Narbonne explained that “these arrangements were essential at our downtown hospital” and are “finally obtained after several years of work”.

“These are minutes saved and they are precious gains in human life. It’s a victory for the public hospital and for our territory », greeted the local elected official.

To achieve this result, an investment of 233 500 euros was necessary, supported by the Regional Health Agency. “The site is entirely made available by the city to the CHU, as part of a long leasesigned between the city and the hospital center,” specifies the management of the health establishment in a recent press release.
