[VIDÉO] Spectacular arrest: two 19-year-olds allegedly sexually assaulted and kidnapped a man for long hours

Two 19-year-olds are accused of sexually assaulting and kidnapping a 30-year-old man for long hours in an apartment in Plateau-Mont-Royal, before being spectacularly arrested by the SPVM late Wednesday afternoon.

The arrest of Ben Terry Edouard and Silya Medkour, Wednesday around 5 p.m., in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough, was filmed by a neighbor and went viral on social networks.

Police officers from the Montreal City Police Department then attempted to intercept a vehicle in which the two accused and the 30-year-old victim were seated.

According to the video circulating on the internet, the driver of the vehicle tried to flee from the police, but quickly hit a tree at the edge of the street.

The two accused were then intercepted by the officers. The victim was transported to a hospital to treat serious injuries, confirmed the SPVM. However, we do not fear for his life.

Appearance

The hours preceding the SPVM’s intervention would have been worthy of a horror movie for the victim, according to the charges against the two young people.

Ben Terry Edouard and Silya Medkour are accused of sexually assaulting the man, whose identity has not been disclosed, while using or threatening to use a weapon and injuring him. The assault reportedly occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Residents of Repentigny and LaSalle are also charged with assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, extortion to extract money from him, threats and resisting peace officers.

Edouard and Medkour appeared Thursday afternoon at the Montreal courthouse on ten counts and will remain detained. They will be back in court on Friday to undergo their bail hearing.

Serious background

Ben Terry Edouard is not his first accusations in such matters. Last November, he was charged with sexual assault on two victims, one minor and the other adult, with unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon and with pointing his weapon. Three other people have also been charged in this case.

He had already been charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm a few months earlier.
