Gers. Here are the major works planned for the coming months at Auch hospital

The year 2024 had already been busy for the Auch hospital center (Gers). With several steps taken in the renovation-extension project. But there was also the expansion of EMERGENCIES (including two additional consultation rooms), that of the outpatient surgery (creation of a clean room and an endoscopy room), the beautification of the dialysis unit… Not to mention the installation work of a new MRI equipment which are currently in progress.

But 2025 will also be marked by major projects. Some were revealed during the wish ceremony last week.

This is what is planned

Still as part of the renovation-extension project of the new hospital, the year 2025
will be marked by the drafting of the energy renovation master plan of the establishment and by the drafting of the detailed technical program in collaboration with the hospital services, specifies a press release from the hospital center.

Remember that in March 2024, phase 1 of the project was validated by the Regional Health Agency. THE programmer/project management assistant had been chosen immediately. this is the Mott MacDonald company.

But the coming months also promise to be very busy, as the establishment specifies, with:

• The creation of a internal medicine-infectiology-rheumatology department.
• The development of the activity ofurologists.
• The opening of theMedical Care and Geriatric Rehabilitation Unit on the Ribère site for a capacity of 14 beds.
• The deployment of the action plan in terms of cybersecurity.
• The deepening and continued deployment of Computerized Patient File at the level of the Territorial Hospital Group (Mirande and Nogaro CH).
• The continuation of the action plan resulting from the 2021-2026 establishment project.
• The organization and preparation of the nursing home certification visit.

The MRI is coming

But other structuring works are planned for the year 2025 such as the installation of the MRI planned between July and September 2025 and the installation of victim reception center end of January 2025 at the former boarding school.

For the first ones, it was necessary, upstream, to carry out some renovation work on the former Health Professions Training Institute (IFMS) in order to accommodate part of the management teams from July 2024. Following the installation of the IRM, the management teams temporarily installed in the former IFMS will return to their initial offices.

The victims’ reception center

As for the victim reception centerso it is currently being created. This center includes a Local Medical-Judicial Unit, a Pediatric Reception Unit for Children in Danger and a Women's Shelter.

The activity of the Local Medical-Judicial Unit began in November 2024, with the intervention of a forensic doctor once a week. This unit opened its doors in La Ribère while awaiting the completion of work on the former boarding school.

The development of the boarding school regarding its rehabilitation, its energy renovation and the increase in its reception capacity is still under study.

The Auch hospital center is the support establishment of the Gers territorial hospital group (GHT), created in June 2016, and is made up of 10 establishments: the hospitals of Condom, Gimont, Mauvezin, Mirande, Vic-Fezensac, Lombez, Samatan, Nogaro and Auch, the specialized hospital of Gers and the public health establishment of Lomagne.
