the essential
Here is the blood donation schedule in the Lot. Eight mobile collections are organized during the month of February.
Blood donation is essential because, to date, there is no synthetic medication capable of replacing blood products from blood donations. 10,000 donations are needed every day to meet the needs of patients waiting for a blood transfusion.
To donate blood in the Lot, there are several possibilities. The Cahors donation center welcomes donors (with or without appointment, although this is preferred). It is open every Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., then from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

-Why must mobilization for blood donation be daily?
The shelf life of blood products is limited: 7 days for platelets and 42 days for red blood cells. To guarantee each patient the blood product they need, blood donations must be regular and constant.
