The Tarn-et-Garonne paid tribute to his firefighters during the Sainte-Barbe ceremonies organized in Castelsarrasin-Moissac, Caylus, Montech, Lauzerte, Albias-Réalville and Corbarieu.
New vehicles promised to firefighters
Michel Weill, president of Sdis 82 and the Department, announced an increase in the departmental contribution of 2.5%, or €250,000, for the acquisition of new vehicles adapted to the missions.
“Between 2022 and 2024, an additional 1.3 million euros compared to what is provided for in the agreement with SDIS 82 were paid by the Departmental Council,” said the elected official.
The 129 firefighters of the Castelsarrasin-Moissac CIS carried out more than 3,033 interventions in 2024, accumulating 208,950 hours of availability. In Montech, the 60 volunteer firefighters led by Captain Dominique Boffa carried out nearly 1,000 interventions and totaled 153,700 hours of availability.
-A new barracks for Montech
Michel Weill also announced the creation of a new 3S platform and modernization of equipment.
He underlined the importance of recruiting and retaining volunteer firefighters and praised the contribution of the Young Firefighters as well as that of partner employers. Furthermore, he revealed that the project for a new barracks for Montech is now on trackland suitable for this construction having already been found.
THE professional firefighters of Tarn-et-Garonne have started a symbolic strike in December 2024. They asked for more staff with a slogan: “Firefighters in our trucks”.
