During the ceremony of wishes to which the Macarians were invited, a quick assessment of 2024 was drawn up and the mayor of Saint-Macaire (), Cédric Gerbeau, thanked the involvement of the 60 citizens who participated in the meetings concerning mobility and parking. The mayor presented the orientations for 2025: development of a guide plan which will lay the foundations for the organization of axes and uses in the city, for planning future work.

Support for associations, cycle paths…

For 18 years, the cycle path project had been on the shelf. For three years, the municipality has been in the implementation phase, with the next stage for 2025 consisting of the installation of solar candelabra which will be put in place for thelighting of this trackmaking pedestrians and cyclists safer.

The town hall of Saint-Macaire renews its confidence and support for associations, at the logistical and financial level. He also mentions the construction of the budget on the basis of self-financing, by working on the savings avenues.

Also coming up is modernization work on public spaces, particularly Place Messidan.

Heritage, housing, school…

In the projects, the maintenance and modernization of municipal buildings and roads: work on the coating of the Victor-Hugo course a you church square will begin shortly.

The study on the necessary consolidation of the Château de Tardes has been finalized, the aim is preservation and identical use.

Other perspectives: access to housing with the installation of a new neighborhood on rue Saint-Denis, collaboration with Gironde Habitat for the creation of this new residence which will be named Lodine (a nod to the twinning) with 60 housing units ( on the one hand social housing, on the other hand housing with access to property).

A reflection on the school

A discussion is being carried out on access to the school and the layout of the large courtyard of the primary school: children, parents, teachers and supervisory staff have expressed their needs, in order to take them into account in the layout for work aimed at a logic of use and securing access for children.

Emphasis will also be placed on the beautification of the town with the work of landscapers for new urban furniture and plant beds adapted to climate change.
