Côte-Nord: an apartment building targeted by projectiles

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is currently investigating projectiles that were fired at an apartment building in Port-Cartier last Friday, fortunately causing no injuries.

The police force was called to intervene on rue des Saules around 8 p.m., due to projectile impacts on a residential building.

The projectiles in question could be linked to firearms, but the SQ is not confirming the information at this time.

Tenants were inside the building, but we assure you that there were no injuries in this incident.

“A forensic identification technician went to the scene to assess the scene. It is the Major Crimes Investigations division which is involved in this case,” indicates Fournier, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

Authorities have not made any arrests in this case at this time. It is also too early to establish a link with organized crime, it is claimed.

This is a second event of its kind to occur in a few days in the region. Remember that people broke into a man’s home before shooting him last Wednesday in Sept-Îles.

The 35-year-old victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening. No arrests have been made to date in this case.
