Victim of an arson at the end of November which destroyed its refrigerated trucks, the charity has just received a new check, this time from Crédit Municipal.

This is a fairly exceptional outpouring of solidarity. Two months after the arson of six refrigerated trucks from the Food Bank, at the Marché Gare in Nîmes, on the night of November 27 to 28, President Joseph Pronesti took stock. Around 450,000 euros in “firm” donations were made to help the Food Bank. Donations from the State, Crédit Mutuel, the Department, individuals or associations, etc. while waiting for other promises from the communities of municipalities of Uzès and the Agglo of Alès and Nîmes.

The latest check was delivered this Monday morning: 4,000 euros from Municipal Credit. No wonder, when we know the DNA of this public credit and social assistance establishment which, apart from its purely banking activities, supports numerous charitable or social associations.

“Joseph Pronesti: I will be able to launch the order for six vehicles next weekend”

“A few months have passed since this dramatic event and it is a great joy to welcome you today”declared, for Crédit municipal, the vice-president Alain Mingaud (representing the president, the mayor of Nîmes Jean-Paul Fournier). Chantal Barbusse, deputy for social action for the city of Nîmes and also administrator of Crédit municipal, for her part praised this organization without which many associations could not act.

Moved, Joseph Pronesti recalled his sadness on the morning of November 28: “When I saw this disaster, I was overwhelmed by emotion. We had just managed a rather exceptional collection. I said to myself: how are we going to distribute before Christmas? (…) But with the “Help already received, I will be able to order six vehicles next weekend and all the benefactors' logos will be displayed.”
